Translation of Law No. 14 of 2012

Law No. 14 of 2012 establishes the framework for Sinai’s integrated development and its Executive Regulations, covering land use and investment.

The law regulates the development and use of land within the Sinai Peninsula and the broader areas covered by its provisions. It establishes different development areas, including limited development areas, investment development areas, and comprehensive development areas, while setting rules governing land ownership, usufruct, investment activities, and the use of real estate. It also establishes the National Authority for the Development of the Sinai Peninsula and defines its role in planning, coordinating, and overseeing development activities.

The translation of Law No. 14 of 2012 provides an English-language version of the legislation and its key provisions governing development, investment, ownership, usufruct, and the administration of land within the Area. The law is supplemented by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 959 of 2012, which issued its implementing rules and provides further detail on the procedures and controls applicable to development and investment activities.

The translation of the Integrated Development of the Sinai Peninsula Law is therefore presented together with the translation of the Executive Regulations of Decree-Law No. 14 of 2012 to provide a comprehensive reference to the legislative and regulatory framework governing development and investment in Sinai. The Executive Regulations address matters including development areas, land and real estate usufruct, investment activities, and the procedures to be followed by the competent authorities.
