Translation of Law No. 394 of 1954
Translation of Law No. 394 of 1954 concerning Weapons and Ammunition provides an English version of Egypt’s legislation.
The English version of the Law on Weapons and Ammunition covers the principal rules governing the possession, carrying, and acquisition of weapons, including the licensing requirements and restrictions applicable to different categories of weapons. The Law also establishes provisions concerning the importation, trading, manufacturing, repair, and transportation of weapons and ammunition.
The Translation of Law No. 394 of 1954 further sets out penalties and general provisions applicable to violations of its requirements, together with schedules classifying various types of weapons and their principal parts. This English version of the Law on Weapons and Ammunition is provided to make the provisions of the Egyptian legislation more accessible to English-speaking readers.
The English version of the Law on Weapons and Ammunition also sets out specific provisions concerning prohibited weapons, licensing exemptions, licence validity and cancellation, and the circumstances in which weapons must be surrendered to the competent authorities. It further regulates the records and procedures applicable to licensed traders and weapons repairers, as well as the fees and permits required under the Law.
