Tax Manager

Job Summary

Due to significant growth following number of high-profile client wins, we are looking for an experienced tax manager in our Cairo office. The role offers the opportunity to work with some of the largest clients in the market to help support them as they navigate an ever increasingly complex tax environment.
As a tax professional working for Andersen’s Cairo office, you will provide a full range of tax services, comprising both compliance and advisory work. You will be working alongside specialists on a day-to-day basis to broaden your experience of different tax areas to help our clients through planning, financial accounting, tax compliance and maintaining effective relationships with tax authorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Being the principal contact with clients on day-to-day tax matters.
Involving on tax advisory and planning work on a client portfolio.
Discussing new tax ideas and technical issues with clients.
Working with specialists to deliver expertise to the local market.
Represents the firm’s clients at the ETA and high challenge tax committees.
Responding appropriately to requests from clients for other Andersen Services.
Reviewing and analyzing corporation tax computations.
Advising clients on the treatment of contentious issues.
Monitoring the tax compliance position.
Being aware of tax updates on the domestic tax law.
Providing clear directions, positive and constructive feedback.
Review work of junior staff, coach and guide junior staff to complete tasks within timelines.
Good command of managing report, advice, and correspondence with the clients.
Review proposals and engagement letters prepared by junior staff.
Review and organize paperwork, filing documents and records.
Prepare technical updates for business development and marketing.
Design internal training sessions covers the law updates and amendments.
Coaching & developing less experienced staff.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects, e.g., Accounting, Taxation, Ideally ESAA qualified (or equivalent).
At least 6 years’ experience in either external and/or internal tax functions.
Having project management skills, planning, prioritizing work, and meeting deadlines.
Having excellent negotiation skills, the ability to sustain opinion and handle challenges, the ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines as well as effective time management skills.
Excellent technical knowledge of and experience taxation matters and compliance.
Ability to apply an understanding of financial statements and other relevant non-tax financial and business information to the tax advisory and compliance work.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Very Good at speaking and writing of English languages to serve and support for team.
A willingness to travel as business demands.
Takes personal responsibility and accountability for work.
Identifies and pursues business opportunities.
