Cybersecurity Specialist (Web Developer)

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist with a strong background in web development to ensure the security of our digital platforms and applications. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles, web application security, and development best practices. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and contribute to the development of secure, high-performance web applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement secure coding practices to safeguard web applications from potential threats.
Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning of web applications and systems.
Identify, analyze, and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities in web applications and digital platforms.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate security measures into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Monitor security alerts and respond to security incidents, providing timely resolutions and documentation.
Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to ensure proactive protection.
Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations.
Provide training and guidance to development teams on secure coding practices and cybersecurity awareness.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Specialist, Web Developer, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, etc.).
Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and frameworks (OWASP, NIST, etc.).
Experience with web application firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security monitoring tools.
Knowledge of secure authentication protocols, encryption techniques, and data protection methods.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CISSP, OSCP) are a plus.

Preferred Skills

Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).
Ability to write and maintain technical documentation related to security policies and procedures.
