Andersen in Egypt Welcomes New Partners

Andersen in Egypt welcomes three new Partners to the firm, Hazem Shawki, Ahmed Hammouda, and Ahmed Ali.

Maher Iskander, Office Managing Partner of Andersen in Egypt, said, “We have been trying to expand the tax department and are excited to add three new members to the team. As a result of our new team, we will be adding a number of services to our tax department and will be adding a consulting and business development branch to our service line.”

Hazem Shawki Omar has over 24 years of experience with multinational professional firms in Egypt. He has experience working with a wide variety of taxation issues, office and branch formations, social insurance, payroll outsourcing and customs assignments in various industries including banking, trading, manufacturing, construction, pharmaceutical, automotive and oil & gas industries in Egypt. Prior to Andersen Tax & Legal, Hazem was part of EY and before that, he worked in the tax division at Arthur Andersen.

Ahmed Hammouda has over 12 years experience in financial consulting and has previously worked with EY. Ahmed has managed numerous market and financial feasibility studies, in addition to participating in due diligence and valuation assignments for clients in various industries.

Ahmed Ali has over 21 years of experience with multinational firms, including 16 years at EY and five years with Arthur Andersen in Egypt. He specializes in Egyptian taxation, providing direct and indirect tax services to the firm’s local businesses as well as foreign joint ventures operating in Egypt. Additionally, he provides services to multi-industry clients (including trading, insurance, petroleum, contracting, manufacturing, construction, food & beverage and oil & gas) on their statutory obligations and relevant legislation.
